For those of you just checking for the first time, we submitted a project to the Pepsi Refresh program. Sadly, we weren't one of the top finalists in our tier, but we won't let that stop us! Be sure you're on our email (sign up is at the bottom of the page) list so you find out as soon as Pepsi starts a new program and we can sign up. (You can help for free on this one)! The glorius building that IS the Monticello Opera House is 122 years old and has significant areas of concern that are being addressed expeditiously. The work to be done will be more expensive than the renovation of the front facade earlier this year. Below is 'the list' which is an ever-growing one:

- Restoration/Replacement of windows
- Repair of rotten beams above stage in theatre....DONE... DONATED LABOR & MATERIALS!
- Repointing of exterior brickwork
- Roof repairs
- Restoration and sealing of all exterior doors
- Repair of several door casings and thresholds
- Replacement of the theatre curtain
- Upgrade of fire and emergency systems...PARTIALLY PLEDGED!
- Chimney brick restoration.....IN PROGRESS!
- Install stair rail in vestibule stairway to theatre...DONOR PLEDGED!
- Install front balcony rails .....DONOR PLEDGED!
- Install safety railings in HVAC air handler area backstage.....DONOR PLEDGED!
- Replace bathroom vent fans (3)...LABOR PLEDGED!
- Sand, stain & refinish banquet hall floor
- Replace/relocate theatre house light rheostats...DONOR & LABOR PLEDGED!
- Replace/upgrade HAVAC unit
- Re-glaze, caulk and paint stained glass above North facing plate windows
- Caulk banquet hall baseboards
- Replace kitchen refridgerator
- Install new kitchen range hood
- Replace kitchen counter tops
- Refurbish or replace kitchen cabinets
- Replace kitchen floor with quarry tile
- R & R kitchen interior east wall
- Sand and oil stage floor in theatre
- Upgrade breaker box(es) backstage in theatre...DONOR LABOR PLEDGED!
- Strip/paint fire escape door & stairs
- Weatherstrip all original doors
- Replace awnings over West door & window...COMPLETED!
- Remove & replace/repair plaster walls near banquet hall bathrooms
- Replace bathroom flooring
- Recover banquet hall chairs
- Replace plywood windows with glass
- Repaint East kitchen exterior door
- Refinish vestibule stairs
- Refinish woodwork in East fire exit stairway
- Build scenery storage for backstage
- Restore theatre boxes with ceiling stencils
- Build lumber racks in theatre backstage loft area
